Adoption Reminder

I’m always in search of others that share my love of Jesus, and the city. One blog that I love to read - The Musings of an Urban Christian - always stirs my head. Today, it grabbed my heart to. Some of you know that Veronica (my wife) and I are in the process of adopting. We’re “expecting” (though not sure when we’ll be “due”).Even though we don’t have the physical reminders of a growing tummy, we regularly pray for Samuel (long-story about this name - ask me sometime.) Though sometimes I feel like I’m burning the candle on both ends, Vero & I often stop to dream about how Samuel will change our life, about what he will be like (we’d also be just as joyful about a girl - Sandra or Susanna). Thinking about our future child is a little bit like stopping to smell the roses. It keeps me human when I can easily get overwhelmed by all the tasks of the day, or the challenges of urban ministry, or of being a big gringo in this multi-ethnic city.
