For those of you who weighed in on my previous post entitled “My 2nd Office,” I think you’ll appreciate this post - taking “Christians in the coffee shop” discussion an entirely different direction - by Rod Garvin at rodgarvin.blogspot.com. To wet your taste, he says:
“[Many] ministries that seek to be culturally relevant have either added coffee houses to their facilities or used them as meeting places…Like the wine of the ancient world, coffee has become the beverage of choice for the purpose of conversation and fellowship. When you think about the demographics of the people who go to coffee stores, they are extremely diverse in terms of race and age.
Due to the high cost of specialty coffees, poor people are often priced out of the experience and are the one group that is consistently absent from this cultural space.”
