I’m taking another class at Fuller this quarter in my attempt to follow my mother’s part-time tracks through seminary. (She openly campaigns for me to follow her path to Princeton as well…)The class I’m taking is NS-501 (aka. New Testament II: Acts to Revelations). The professor is John Drane, a Scottish theologian and author with a great accent and a lot of knowledge. It probably helps that he did his PhD work in Ancient Gnosticism (gnosis=knowledge). Despite how all that may sound, the first 2 weeks have been really thought provoking.

As for the final grade, there are “only” 2 assignments, beyond required attendance. One is a 12-15 page paper on a topic of our choosing. The second assignment is a journal entry for every class period, addressing & expanding themes, lessons, insights, etc. from the lectures & discussions of each day.

Since I’m already blogging, I thought I’d just add it to my blog. The posts will be a bit longer, so I’ll try to open with a few hightlight quotes or thoughts at the beginning for those of you with just a few minutes for reading. Some posts may closely follow the assigned theme, but others may not follow any rigid form.
