Very late on the night before New Year’s Eve, Abuelita Meche finally made it through to L.A…. more specifically to Boyle Heights. We had arranged to meet at Scott’s dad in San Miguel Ayende, to spend Christmas together there with Chris and Kimberly, and to all our surprise and Joy! we were not able to make it. My mom, Meche, had a wonderful time con los suegros in SMA, but being too close to Christmas, she was not able to change her plane tickets to hurry back and meet her nietecita Isabel. After many rides and traveling like a true “Burro” (did you read Scott’s blog about this burro thing ? You should, it is very funny -the burro story ) and after many hours on the road, and many stops to visit her siblings along the way in Sonora, she arrived with many gifts from los suegros mexicanos !!
Isabel loved them, but mami Vero was delighted to see the warm thick sweater that grammyKimberly sent to her!!! no cold days ahead for her!!! Gracias Abuelito Grumpy for the títere right now the títere could make Isabel dance el folklórico– they are both almost the same size . She will spend many fun hours creating dance routines for her dance partner el títere!!
