This summer my friend Walter and I read The World is Flat together. I’m not sure we finished talking through all of it, though it is an interesting read. One of the authors thesis points is how “flat” the world economy is becoming, that is, how global the workforce is becoming because of technology. On his list of top 10 reasons, global outsourcing was one of them.I bought into his ideas for the most part, but reading this article about surrogate mothers in India carrying children for infertile couples in America really took cost-cutting to a whole new level.
