Surgery
As such, we would appreciate your prayers.
- - For Veronica: The doctor is planning a laparoscopy, but has warned that due to the size of one of the cysts, a more invasive surgery requiring an incision might be necessary. While we want the cysts removed, the recovery time for a laparoscopy is about 7-10 days, while anything that cuts through the muscles in her abdomen would keep her out of action for a month or more. That would be less than ideal. Please pray for the doctors, that they would be able to remove her cysts through the laprascopic procedure. And pray for Veronica, that her recovery would be “quick” and without complications.- For Isabel: Due to the surgery, Vero won’t be able to carry Isa while she is recovering, at least for a few days. This places most of Isa’s care in my hands. Now, Isa is already a daddy’s girl, so this shouldn’t be overwhelming. But caring for Isa & Vero will fill my plate. Praise God for my suegra (Vero’s mom), and friends & family that are making dinner for us for 2 weeks & will come over to help out. But pray for Isa, as she adjusts to her mommy’s recover for a little while. (Another reason to pray that laparoscopy is enough)
- For me: I think we will be OK with people generously helping out. But I can be a little bit of a stress-case when care needs pile up. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. Also, with one of my staff partners having a baby (Thursday is her due date), I’m carrying a more responsibilities on campus this quarter. Pray for God’s continued leadership of the ministry in the midst of the transitions of this quarter & the recovery time for Vero from surgery
I’ll let you know more about how the surgery goes. Vero will be at the hospital at 6am, so if all goes well, the laparoscopy is an outpatient procedure and she’ll come home in the afternoon or evening.
