Despite my 1-8 Shaq-like-only-in-this-way performance from the free throw line, we won our first round playoff game last night at Blair High school. Fortunately, I’m only really on my team as an intimidator, not a scorer. We bulit up a 32-9 lead, and then held on in spite of ourselves to win something like 56-49.

So we play again on Wednesday at 9:30pm at Victory Park in Pasadena, for any who want to come out. The only non-participating audience at yesterday’s game was dominated by my personal entourage - Vero, Isa, mi suegra Mercedes, her friend Mercedes and my nephew Danny. I think there were a few girlfriends/spouses, but the bulk of the fan base for RP Tigers comes through 721 Saint Louis.

UPDATE: Due to a strange turn of events, we had to forfeit our Sunday game. Not to worry, though, we played another team last night and beat them, so now we play the winner of the Homenmen II (8-2) vs. And Won (7-3) contest from last night. Don’t know who won that, but “And Won” looked like they were running away with it when we left last night.
