(The 3rd one is the best of the 3.) Other than a general opinion that too much money gets spent on jails and not enough on education, I didn't have any really formed opinions about the justice system. But since my jury duty experience, a lot of this stuff has been catching my eye. There were 3 articles in the Aug.6th opinion section (read here, here, and here) that basically said the same thing. (The 3rd one is the best of the 3.)

Other than a general opinion that too much money gets spent on jails and not enough on education, I didn’t have any really formed opinions about the justice system. But since my jury duty experience, a lot of this stuff has been catching my eye.

Folks are looking at it from the point of view of "what can we learn from the debacle" and "what not to do." Cali once exported the models and the 'to do' stuff, so the reporting here has been a mix of smug satisfaction at California's problems and a little sadness that the coast has become what it has.
