Down for the count… finally
I’m watching our personal, in-home, better-than-cable “Isavision” - aka the video monitor we have hooked up over Isa’s crib. She just spit out her chupon (read: pacifier), signalling that she is finally fully asleep. It is now 11:38pm. I didn’t put her down in her crib until 10:35pm, even theough she is supposed to go to sleep for the night at 8:30pm. But she kept waking up for different reasons - her stomach had some gas, she is teething (and thus salivating), she was a bit congested, and she was too hot.
Obviously, she didn’t speak directly of any of these things, except with a little yelp or a cry of discomfort, or a few screams of dissatisfaction. The problem for us is that, while I have know idea how it is for other children closing in on their first birthday, everything that Isa does requires a certain - and often high level - of our personal involvement.
Even on the good days.
Even more on the hard days, which somehow she has been having or flirting with having, or recoverying from or going in & out of for about 2 1/2 weeks now. The details aren’t as exciting as it may seem, though the experience these last few weeks has been taxing and a bit overwhelming. So please keep praying for her, and for us. I’m not sure exactly how the “future and a hope” promise is working itself out for us right now, or for tomorrow.
