Sweet to see the PAC-men get three into the Sweet 16. Should have had 4 if Wazzoo hadn't tightened up against Vanderbilt.

Not surprised by SC's showing at all. They're just thumpin' people. The Big 12 was overrated this year (except for Kansas and A&M) so not shocked that Texas went down so easily.

How good a coach is Howland? He's got a team that forgot how to shoot 3 weeks ago and they still make the Sweet 16. Still, UCLA is just plain hard to watch--ugly, ugly basketball.

My detailed and semi-contrarian pics for the next two weekends:

Midwest: Florida over Butler then UNLV (love the Ducks but liking the Runnin' Rebs even more right now)

West: Kansas over Southern Illinois then UCLA (I actually think Pitt may beat UCLA since UCLA's in such a shooting slump, but I've gotta go with the Bruins out of loyalty's sake :^)

East: Georgetown over Vandy then SC (yes, the Trojans pull of the huge upset and knock out the Heels!)

South: Texas A&M over Memphis and then Ohio State. I'm going way out of a limb here, but I think A&M has some of the best guards in the tournament and I like their discipline. Memphis is very athletic but out of control and I'm not that impressed with Ohio State. I thought Xavier was better and the Buckeyes were very lucky to advance.

You know, I picked VCU too for much the same reasons. Josh McRoberts was nowhere near the dominant player that everyone was predicting.

It's more sorrowful having an office that specifically outlaws office pools for March Madness. Boo.
