Friday foto fix

This photo goes to Isa - who has been reconfirming the reality that is painfully obvious to everyone else: that she is a papi’s girl.

Since there are no rain-checks for Friday Foto fix, we can’t go backward to make up for lost time. So, instead of catching up for the last 2 weeks, today’s Foto fix will just focus on one day - yesterday.

No, she is not foaming at the mouth. That’s just residue from the teething tablets we gave her while she was up from 2am to 4am. Yeah…too early.

The sunglasses help Isa keep a low profile & avoid the demanding paparazzi…

…they also helped her eyes after we came out of her appointment at the Center for the Partially Sighted in Santa Monica. Here she is pictured with Veronica & her vision “teacher” Lupe.

Then in the afternoon, we drove up together…

(With pretty shoes on, of course)

…to the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center for an evaluation for aquatic therapy with the director.


Isabel did really well… over an hour in the heated therapy pool trying different activities & positions. Though she is a little young (developmentally), the director was very positve about how she might benefit from regular exposure in the water.
For children (and adults, too) with cerebral palsy & sensory integration issues, the pressure & temperature of water activity is highly advantageous for stretching, increasing flexibility & range of motion, and for encouraging muscle control & activity.
For Isa, it was probably the most pure exercise & movement that she’s ever had in one hour!!

Afterwards, Isa was relaxed and more engaged/active with her body than she ever is, especially in a car ride

And then she kept mami up past her normal bedtime with giggles & kicks & laughter. But since she slept all through the night, it was OK

   It is good to see her again. Wow! Looks like this car ride was so much better than previous. I LOVE HER SHOES!!! She gets that from me. One day we’ll go shoe shopping together. Hey swimming is her mommy’s second nature. It will go great now that summer approaches.

   she looks great!!! oh yeah… so do daddy and mommy!!!

   Looks like the next project is a heated pool! Sounds like she had a great experience and would benefit from more of the same.
